It's finally here! The adult version of my shell stitch beanie! Hopefully I can add a pic soon! This is thanks to Ashley McCauley from Ravelry! She wrote this up for me and I had yet to post it. I have not tried this on my own yet, so please give me feedback on how to make this pattern the best it can be :)

  2. Awesome!! I always get asked for an adult version!! What if I wanted to use Caron Simply SOft which is now Aran weight and not worsted... any ideas on how I can adapt?

  6. I'm making the hat now and am up to 22 rounds, and the hat only fits half of my head. Not sure why that has happened. Going to keep going around until it is big enough and hope that works!

  7. I made this hat over the weekend with Caron's Simply Soft yarn. I added one extra row of pattern (Round 11-16 became Rounds 11-17), then finished per pattern. Thanks!

  8. I'm making the first of the adult sized pattern. I wish I had kept up with all the various sizes of beanies I've made with your pattern! I can make them in my sleep. Well, almost!! There are many babies out there wearing my creations and I have had many enjoyable hours making them. I've used different weights of yarn, different types of yarn--simply soft to pure merino and pima cotton. I've made yarn flowers to embellish them with and now am making crocheted flowers to embellish them. I never receive anything but positive feedback for my creations. I love to give hats to people I don't even know! The ultimate stash buster pattern.!!!!!

  10. So I worked this up this week (the adult size) and I realized, that if you add additional rows of pattern (ie. 11-16 becomes, say 11-30), this hat could easily convert into a slouch hat!

So, I'm gonna work it up and see what it looks like - and if it turns out well, I'll share =)

  11. Thanks for this adult version. I have made many of the baby ones and everyone loves them. My daughters asked for one for themselves and now I can make them. Thanks for sharing your pattern.

  12. It's October 2013, and I just made this adult size, and added an extra round of the pattern as another commenter suggested, and it was very easy to make. It's actually a little bit "big" size as adult hats go, but it's probably my yarn and my crochet style and for me personally next time I'll try an i hook instead of J, but this pattern is really cute and very easy to follow! Thank you! I made the hat in several colors. It's very cute!

  13. Why only skip 2sc for the adult version but 3 sc for the children's version when making the V?

  14. This pattern was written almost 2 years ago--do you have a picture of it yet?
